The Cat In The Hat

Image
When i was a kid, my favorite book was “The Cat In The Hat” By Dr. Seuss. The Cat In The Hat is a book your parents have definitely read to you because it's that good.  When i was a kid i would always beg and beg my parents to read it to me because i loved it so much. It’s about two kids who are extremely bored left home alone when it's pouring rain outside. There is nothing to do until the cat in the hat comes out! Once he comes out they all have the most fun of their lives. This is no ordinary cat, after the talking cat shows off his balancing/ juggling skills and all of the interesting things he can do to the kids, they are more than amazed. They are so fascinated with him they want their mom to see this miracle, but can’t because the mom would freak out with disbelief and get terrified of him. So the kids enjoy the time they have with him and will never forget it. I think this book is a must read if you have not already read it because it made me have an extra...

My All Time Favorite Book

Image
My all time favorite book is The Land of Stories the Wishing Spell  by Chris Colfer. The Land of Stories the Wishing Spell  is about twins that travel to a different dimension called the Land of Stories. They visit characters from different fairy tales and travel to different kingdoms to collect objects from famous fairy tales. The objects make a potion that will help them get home, but villains try to steal the objects from them because they want the potion for themselves. The Land of Stories The Wishing Spell  is my favorite book because I like reading fairy tales. This book was an adventurous and mature spin on my favorite childhood books. I remember my mom and I buddy-reading the book when I was in sixth grade. It was really fun to share the experience with her.

Lord of the Flies

Image
Lord of the Flies was a truly good book. I read this book last year and it enlightened me. This book was about the quest of a group of marooned boys ages 5-13 trying to get off the island. Most people at first glance would think that this book is one of those survival books. The saying "never judge a book it’s cover "especially applies to this novel. After getting stranded, the boys made a chief, a government of sorts, as well as a set of rules. This book not only is about the struggle to survive on a deserted island, but it very accurately describes the human condition. This is not satirical, it only brings light to human nature. During the middle of the book, there was an issue. The smaller kids claimed of a beast on the island, bigger than any animal known to man. The older boys decide to hunt down this “beast” but in the process, daily life on the island begins to break down as the lifestyle turns to an anarchy. The boys end up killing each other and a message becom...

Jackie & Me

Image
My favorite book is Jackie & Me by Jackie Robinson for multiple reasons. One, is that the book is historical, but at the same time a fun adventure book. Joe (the main character) has to do a report on a civil rights activist. He has a love of baseball so he chooses Jackie Robinson. Nobody knows that he has a power to put a baseball card to his chest and go back to that time. He uses that to get info from a primary source, Jackie Robinson. Another reason is that the book shows real sports events and how black people were treated in that time. In 4th grade, I also did a book report on it. Overall I would recommend anyone to read this adventure historical fiction book.

My favorite book

My favorite book of all time is Gregor The Overlander and the prophecy of bane, by Suzanne Collins. I loved this book so much and ended up reading all 4 other books in the series. My 4th grade teacher, Mr.McCullough read the first book to my class and it was amazing. When we finished the book I immediately went to read the second. It is an action filled book and I love how the author writes. She makes a cliffhanger after every chapter so I always wanted to keep reading. The characters have interesting personalities that unravel throughout the book. The main character Gregor, goes on adventuresses in this secret under ground world. I enjoyed this book very much and hope everyone gets a chance to read it.

My favorite book called Shiloh

Image
By favorite book that I read in fifth grade was called Shiloh by Phyllis Reynolds Naylor. It is about a 11 year old boy named Marty who tries to save a beagle from abusive owner. It follows the struggle on him trying to keep this dog a secret from his parents while also trying to save the dog from many things, like the abusive owner and mean german shepherds. It is one of my favorite books because it's a heartwarming story and there are twists that you wouldn’t think would happen, and it keeps you interested in the storyline the whole way though.

Living with the Walter boys, most amazing book ever

Image
My Life with the Walter Boys by Ali Novak is one of the best books of all time! This book is about a girl who's parents died so she has to go live with her mom’s best friend. She goes over to live with them and finds out there are 12 boys she has to live with all under one roof. There are a lot of ups and downs in this story with the events happening and multiple surprising events throughout the book too. I have already read this book 7 times because it is SO good and I love it more and more every single time I read it. If you ever read this book, I am 99.9% sure you will love it!

My Favorite Book When I Was Younger

Image
One of my favorite books from when I was younger is Ivy and Bean by Annie Barrows. This was one of my favorite books when I was 4 years old, because my dad would read it out loud to my sister and I every night. I remember that every night, we would all sit on the couch, and he would pick up from the chapter he left off on. I thought that it was so cool that he was reading us a chapter book, and I remember that I would always laugh at the crazy and weird things that Ivy and Bean did in the story. I will always have good memories from this book, and I think it's a book that all many younger kids would enjoy as much as I did.

Wonder; The Book of Millions of Emotions

Image
Just one book can place an imprint on your heart. My favorite book in the whole world is “Wonder” written by RJ Palacio. In 4th grade I remember my teacher reading this to the class. Instantly I knew this book would make me feel so many different emotions. Some parts were very sad. Some parts made the readers feel joyful, and some parts made readers feel sorrow. At that age my classmates and I didn’t have as much perspective on acceptance than we do now. Auggie, the main character in the book had a facial deformity and many kids did not accept him for who he is. This book taught young readers not to judge a book by it’s cover which is a vital social skill used throughout childhood.  August Pullman made the best out of life. His positivity spread among several others.

My all time favorite childhood book!

Image
The kids on the cover all have boo boos. One of my all time favorite books from when I was younger was The Boo Boo Book by Joy Masoff. This happened to be one of my favorite books because one of my friends got hurt a lot and had a cast and I wanted to hurt myself so I could have a cast too like her. I had got this book when I was really little and read it all of the time because it talked about breaking bones and different kinds of cuts and I liked to learn about that. I liked this book so much that I almost read it every night before I went to bed when I was younger. Even though I don’t read this picture book anymore, I learned a lot from it and sometimes reference to it when something comes up in my life like breaking bones. This would be a really helpful book if you wanted to become a doctor or nurse when you get older!

Big Nate, the greatest book ever

Image
My favorite book is Big Nate by Lincoln Peirce . I read this book when I was younger and it interested me a lot. When I was younger I read part of it every night before I went to bed. I loved pictures so this was perfect for me because it was a graphic novel. It’s about a boy in middle school that goes on adventures and does things with his friends. I was able to relate to this book and I think that's why I liked it so much. Overall Big Nate is my favorite book ever.

Do you want to build a car?

Image
Everyone has memories from when they were children, but one that encompasses them all is reading picture books with your parents. Every toddler has a picture book that sticks out from the rest. For me, it was If I Built A Car by: Chris van Dusen. I was a young child fascinated by cars so this was just a perfect fit for me. My mom read it to me every single day from when I was 3-6 years old. The deal-breaker for me was that there was a robot named Robert and there was also a machine that could make whatever food you want. Also the main character in the book had a wild imagination like me when I was a child. I will always remember the inspiration that this book has given me.

The Best Games Ever: The Hunger Games

Image
This is the title page of The Hunger Games book My favorite book is The Hunger Games by Suzanne Collins. This book is very interesting and fascinating to read about. It had such good detail and I could really imagine the events of the book in my mind. I read this book in 6th grade, after taking a test and it took me seven days after that to read it. The fighting scene is my favorite because it is so imaginable, such as the injuries feel like you are fighting with them. In 6th grade, I watched The Hunger Games four days in a row because I loved it so much!

The Best Picture Book Ever

Image
Audrey is looking at her badge with her horse This book was my favorite book ever since I was little. My dad got it for me since it had my name in it, and I used to always make my parents read it to me every night before bed. It is about a little girl named Audrey who lives in the wild west. She has a very tough sister who protects the town from bandits. But one day Audrey has to pretend to be her sister and protect her town even though she is a scared 8 year old girl. Audrey saved the town from the worst bandits and got a statue in her town. I like this book since it is about a girl with the same name as me, and the book is pretty interesting for a little kid picture book. It has a good message about you can do anything and is still my favorite book.

Maze Runner By James Dashner

Image
My favorite book from all time is The Maze Runner By James Dashner. I read this book every day in winter break. The suspense kept me reading, and I didn't want to stop because each chapter was a new adventure. The book had two realities, one in the glade and one outside, but we knew nothing about the outside. This is something that made the book better because you were always questioning yourself what the outside world was like and if they were ever going to escape the glade.

My favorite book-Unstoppable

Image
My favorite book of all time is Unstoppable. This book was written by Tim Green. Unstoppable is about a kid who has played football for his whole life. One day, he gets injured, and the doctors told him that they would need to cut his leg off. He couldn’t believe that this was happening to him. He ended up training a lot to get his leg back in shape. He thought that we would never play football again, but because of the training he could play football even with half of a leg.
