Short Story

It was a monday morning and I was about to be late for school. My dad drops me off, and as I walk into school I notice something different. I remember from the moment I stepped outside of my house I didn’t see a single animal. No squirrels running up trees or birds chirping. I just decided to ignore it. Soon after I got to school and I was in gym waiting for the announcements to go off.  Unusually, they were a few minutes late but the bell rang for them to start.

“Attention everyone this is a lock down,” Said doctor Phillips.

“This can’t be fake, we just had a practice lockdown!” I thought to myself.

Everyone rushed to the locker rooms as soon as possible. We waited for ever until the most terrifying moment of my life happened. I heard glass breaking followed by screams and barking. A few seconds later there were scratching and pounding sounds on the door of the locker room and no one could see what was making the sounds. Out of fear people start to run out the other dore, but that was a huge mistake. To everyone's surprise there were giant, angry wolfs with a matted orange coat of fur. Their sharp teeth were showing and they were ready to pounce. There eyes were as red as blood. Everyone runs down the hall and i’m at the front of the stampede. I run and don't look back until I make it outside were millions of wolves everywhere! I sprint as fast as I could to the front doors of the school. When I got out I didn’t know what to do, so I started climbing the school to be out of reach to the wolfs. My phone was in my pocket and so I call my sister. She didn't answer so the high school is probably on lock down too. As I walk across the school roof I can hear people running out of the building. Mostly teachers getting their cars and driving away. But there are some students running out of the school. I signal them to climb the building. As i’m quickly helping 20 or so people climb up a building I know something will go wrong. 5 more people are on the ground trying to climb, when the wolves come. They bite off stephy’s leg along with the other students. All I start throwing whatever I can find around me at the wolf, but it’s no use. Everyone who survived and I just waited on the rofe. About 8 hours later out of the blue, there's a sound from the sky. A helicopter spots us, so we move out of the way so it can land. To people come out of the helicopter.

“Were assuming all of you are confused on what's going on, but everything will be ok. We were sent by the FBI to search for survivors. We're here to help, to take you away to a safe location.” Said one of the guys.

“What is going on?” Asked a 6th grader.

“We don’t know how, but an outbreak virus has turned every animal into these orange wolfs. Lucky, hummers can’t affected, we think” He replied.

“Some people who have it will stay behind, those who don’t will come with us.” Said the other guy.

Also, the helicopter can’t fit all of us. Almost half of the group had to stay. I was one of the lucky people who was chosen to go. As i’m riding in the helicopter, I look down at the ground were stefy is lying. She looks tinted orange and opens her eyes which have turned bright red.
